Following a consultation you will be asked to lie on your stomach and your back will be cleansed. This reduces the risk of any spots (folliculitis) forming.
As the back is a large area and the skin relatively robust most clients use the strip wax method.
Wax is applied over a large part of the back, in the direction of the hair growth, using a spatula or roll on cartidge. A paper strip is then applied and pulled away in the opposite direction, removing the hair at the root.
This is repeated until the back is hair free.
Any residue of wax left behind is removed using oil or an oil based cleanser.
An antibacterial and astringent creme or gel is then applied to encourage the hair follicle to close and disinfect the skin.
Finally your therapist will give you some
aftercare advice and book you in for your next appointment in 4 - 6 weeks time.
